Tracking your life can keep your life on track.

How you track is up to you.

Me? I use a spreadsheet to track my daily activities to understand the balance between the important parts of my life.

Here’s a snapshot from October 2018:

I had just started to date someone so it’s looking fuller than usual in the partner column 😄

3 great benefits:

  1. It answers forward thinking questions like, am I working too hard and not seeing my friends? When was the last time I called home? Do I need to make time for myself?
  2. It’s motivational seeing streaks/ patterns. E.g. having a good exercise regime.
  3. You can course-correct. Haven’t done some learning in a while? Time to read a book. Haven’t exercised for a week? Jump to the gym.

Tracking started off as a temporary discipline tool, but soon became a habit that has done wonders. I think you should give it a go, tweet me @petejayhuang and I’ll share with you my 2019 version.

Thanks for reading, that was Little Learning number 1 🙌
